Hollywood has a long history of casting adult actors as teenagers. While real teens are often hired for younger roles today, studios have traditionally favored older performers because of labor regulations, filming schedules, and acting experience.

In many cases, audiences never realized that a supposed high school student was actually in their twenties—or even older. Some actors became iconic teen stars despite being years removed from adolescence.
