Reality television has launched more entertainment careers than many people realize. While some contestants disappeared after brief fame, others successfully transformed reality TV exposure into long-term careers in acting, music, modeling, and mainstream entertainment.

In some cases, these celebrities appeared on talent competitions. Others started on dating shows, lifestyle series, or unscripted programs before eventually entering Hollywood films, television, or the music industry.

Many fans now forget that some major stars first appeared on television as ordinary contestants trying to get noticed.
