During an appearance on The Late Late Show, Grant was asked which movie role he regretted the most. He quickly named The Lady and the Highwayman, a 1988 film from the early days of his career.
Grant joked about his appearance in the movie, saying he was supposed to look attractive as a highwayman but felt the costume did not help. He remembered wearing a poor-quality wig and hat and said he looked more funny than heroic. Even years later, the role remains one he wishes he could forget.
