Winkler had the chance to play Danny Zuko in the hit musical film Grease (1978). The role eventually went to John Travolta and became one of the most famous characters in movie history.
Even though it was a big opportunity, Winkler turned it down because he was worried about being typecast. He felt Danny Zuko was too similar to Fonzie, the character he was already known for.
At the time, he believed taking the role would make it harder for audiences to see him as different characters in the future. Looking back, Winkler has admitted that he still regrets passing on the movie.
Liam Neeson Chose Love Over James Bond
