Max Verstappen’s Proud Message After Big GT3 Win as His Team Finally Breaks Through

Max Verstappen had plenty to celebrate after his Verstappen Racing team earned an important victory in the GT World Challenge at Magny-Cours in France.

The win marked a major moment for the team, which had come close to success several times before. After the race, Verstappen shared a short but heartfelt message online, showing how much the achievement meant to him.

Verstappen Racing Finally Gets Its Big Moment

Verstappen Racing secured its first victory in the GT World Challenge series during a sprint race at Magny-Cours.

The team’s drivers, Daniel Juncadella and Jules Gounon, started from pole position and delivered a strong performance throughout the 60-minute race. Their efforts helped the team reach an important milestone after several near misses in recent months.

A Strong Start Set Up the Victory

The race began just before sunset, and Jules Gounon quickly took control at the front of the field.

He built a comfortable lead during the opening part of the race and created a strong advantage for the team. By the time he handed the car over to Daniel Juncadella, Verstappen Racing was in an excellent position to fight for the win.

The early lead proved to be one of the key reasons the team was able to stay ahead until the finish.

Late Pressure Made the Finish Exciting

Even though Verstappen Racing looked set for a comfortable victory, things became much more challenging in the final stages.

A full-course yellow period with around 20 minutes remaining changed the race and reduced the gap between the leading cars.

Arthur Leclerc, the younger brother of Ferrari Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc, took advantage of the situation. He steadily reduced the difference from more than six seconds to around 2.5 seconds during the closing laps.

Despite the pressure, Juncadella remained calm and managed the race well. He stayed in front and crossed the finish line to secure the team’s first series victory.

Max Verstappen Shared His Pride

After the race ended, Verstappen quickly reacted on social media.

The four-time Formula 1 world champion posted a simple message that captured his feelings about the result.

“So proud. Well done everyone.”

The short message showed how much the victory meant to him and the entire Verstappen Racing project.

The team has worked hard to reach this point, making the success especially rewarding.

Family Members Also Celebrated the Success

Verstappen was not the only family member celebrating the achievement.

His father, former Formula 1 driver Jos Verstappen, congratulated the team after the race.

“Well done guys,” he wrote.

Verstappen’s mother, Sophie Kumpen, who also has a racing background, joined in as well. She reacted with handclapping emojis to show her support and excitement.

The messages reflected the strong family connection to motorsport and the pride felt after the team’s breakthrough victory.

Drivers Praised Each Other and the Team

After the race, Daniel Juncadella explained that the win may have looked easy from the outside, but it was far from simple.

He said sprint racing is always intense and requires everything to go perfectly. Juncadella also praised teammate Jules Gounon for his excellent qualifying performance and strong opening stint.

According to Juncadella, Gounon created a large enough gap to make the second half of the race more manageable.

Even with that advantage, he still had to stay focused until the checkered flag.

He described the result as an amazing feeling and was happy to help deliver the team’s first major victory.

Gounon Highlighted the Team’s Hard Work

Jules Gounon was equally emotional after the race.

He said he was extremely happy for everyone involved with Verstappen Racing and pointed out the effort made behind the scenes.

According to Gounon, drivers arrive at the track and focus on racing, but mechanics and team members spend countless hours preparing the car.

He praised the crew for working day and night and said they deserved a lot of credit for the victory.

Gounon also said winning alongside Juncadella made the moment even more special.

The Win Comes After Several Tough Setbacks

The success at Magny-Cours was especially meaningful because Verstappen Racing had experienced several disappointments before finally reaching the top step of the podium.

Earlier this year, Verstappen, Gounon, and Juncadella crossed the finish line first in an NLS race at the Nürburgring. However, the team was later disqualified because of a tyre-related rule violation.

That result was difficult to accept because they had already shown race-winning pace.

The team also competed in the Nürburgring 24 Hours in May with Lucas Auer joining the lineup.

During that event, the Verstappen Racing Mercedes was leading with only four hours remaining. Unfortunately, a driveshaft problem ended their hopes and pushed them down the order.

Because of those setbacks, the GT World Challenge victory felt even more rewarding.

Verstappen Still Has Unfinished Business

Despite celebrating this latest success, Verstappen has made it clear that he still has goals he wants to achieve in endurance racing.

After the Nürburgring 24 Hours disappointment, he said he feels there is unfinished business at the famous event.

Verstappen explained that he wants to return and eventually win the race. He admitted that his Formula 1 schedule would need to allow it, but he remains interested in competing there again.

For now, Verstappen Racing can enjoy a long-awaited victory. After months of hard work, setbacks, and near misses, the team finally has the result it had been chasing.
